Maryland Lottery's Dubble Bubble Doubler named year's Best New Instant Game at NASPL

Oct. 16, 2008, Winnipeg - Pollard Banknote is pleased to announce that its partnership with the Maryland Lottery has resulted in a welcome accolade for Dubble Bubble Doubler, a licensed product featuring the retro Dubble Bubble(R) brand. The Maryland Lottery's Dubble Bubble Doubler was named "Best New Instant Game" at the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) 2008 conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This recognition follows last year's NASPL award for Best New Instant Game for Loto-Quebec's 10 000 a l'heure-developed by Loto-Quebec and printed by Pollard Banknote. The Maryland Lottery's Dubble Bubble Doubler has been blowing away players since its March 10th launch, quickly becoming the top-selling $2 game in the Lottery's history. After ten weeks, the game generated sales that more than double the typical sales of games at the $2 price point. "The Dubble Bubble property has been great for us," said Buddy Roogow, Director of the Maryland Lottery. "The game presented the perfect opportunity to create an inclusive marketing campaign that lets everyone in on the fun and excitement. The attention Dubble Bubble Doubler has earned has raised the Maryland Lottery's entire public profile in a positive way."

Tapping into the strong association between baseball and bubble gum, the Maryland Lottery has rolled out an integrated program of promotions, event marketing, point-of-sale (POS) support, and broadcast advertising to make sure everyone can get a taste of the Dubble Bubble(R) experience. Key program elements include baseball-themed prizes at Camden Yards (home field of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team), Orioles game ticket giveaways and discounts, and bubble-blowing contests.
