Nim’s creates “edible teas”
Nim’s, previously known for their packaged fruit and vegetable snacks, has created teas that can be eaten as a snack, or infused in boiling water and made into tea.
The British company uses an air-drying method on their fruits and vegetables to preserve its colour and flavour. Nim’s currently makes a range of fruit and vegetable “chips,” and as most herbal teas already use dried fruit, this new range is a natural extension of its existing line.
Having a zero-waste philosophy meant the company could use the pieces of fruit that were discarded in the drying process for their snacks, and Nim’s product development realized that the flavour was enhanced when rehydrated.
The snack company currently only offers three flavours of their herbal tea, in 12 bag sachets: Beetroot & Parsnip; Pineapple & Kiwi; Pineapple, Beetroot & Parsnip. Nim’s claims that a cup of tea is the equivalent to one serving of fruit and veg.
