May 21, 2009 – Bunn-O-Matic Corporation of Canada, in conjunction with its parent company, Bunn-O-Matic Corp., of Springfield Ill., has announced a voluntary recall of Bunn single cup coffee/tea pod brewers. An estimated 35,600 Bunn(R) single cup coffee/tea pod brewers sold between August, 2004 and March, 2009 in North America are affected. Customers should stop using recalled products immediately.

The pod drawer of the pod brewer may open unexpectedly, posing a burn hazard to consumers. To date, evidence of this problem has been found in only 10 of 35,600 units sold in North America, though only one incident of minor burns has been reported.
