Canadian Pinball Champion on September 26, 27 and 28, 2008 in Toronto
at The Playdium Store.
Pinballers of all skill levels are invited to participate in Canada’s first national pinball competition and vie for the title of 2008 Canadian Pinball Champion on September 26, 27 and 28, 2008 in Toronto at The Playdium Store (70 Ronson Drive). More than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded in total, including the Grand Prize of a new STERN World Poker Tour Pinball machine (value: $5,000) and $1,000 in cash. Players can pre-register on-line at www.theplaydiumstore.com or by calling 1-888-977-4263, ext. 298. The entry fee is $25.
Qualification rounds will take place on Friday, September 26 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is a Masters category for pinballers over 50 years of age. On Sunday, September 28, playoff rounds will start at 10 a.m. with the final round played at 4 p.m. Gary Stern will preside over the final round and award the winner the grand prize and title of 2008 Canadian Pinball Champion. Stern is president and owner of Stern Pinball Inc., the sole surviving pinball-machine manufacturer on the planet.
A free Kids’ Pinball Tournament, for ages 15 and under, will be held on Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. concurrent with the 2008 Canadian Pinball Championship. Prizes include a Kids Ultimate Game Chair!
Free Media Pinball tournament with the top prize of $1,000 going to your favourite charity will also be held on Saturday, September 26 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (registration @ 10:30am).
In addition, The Funland Arcade Auction Sale featuring arcade games, pinball machines, jukeboxes, pool tables and many more items from the historic Toronto landmark will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at The Playdium Store (70 Ronson Drive). Viewing begins at 9:30 a.m., bidding starts at 11:30 a.m.
