Nov. 27, 2009, Vancouver – Canterbury Coffee, a specialty coffee roaster in Western Canada, now offers an organic, fair trade, and sustainable brand of coffee aptly named resiprocate. The newly minted, premium coffee brand promises to give back one sip at a time, not only to the communities where the coffee is grown, but also to the communities where the coffee is sold.
Canterbury Coffee is the supplier to some of the country’s largest foodservice providers. Founded in 1981, the Richmond BC based company has always been community-minded, but resiprocate is their first endeavor into such a comprehensive community-based project. “This brand was developed around community,” says Canterbury’s Sr. Marketing Manager, Jody Levesque. “While enriching the lives of the coffee growers’ communities is a primary focus, we also believe in giving back locally to our customers and supporting initiatives that are important to them.”
Seasoned advertising, creative communications and interactive agency BRANDFX developed the name, designed the logo, packaging, trade materials and cups for the conscience-savvy brew. The positive response to the design of the packaging on popular social media sites like Twitter and Flickr has added to an increasing loyal following of the brand. The organic brew is making waves at the UBC campus where the eye-catching coffee cups are seen everywhere as it is currently the popular choice to caffeinate the student body and faculty alike.
