Jan. 26, 2015 – Frito-Lay has introduced its first sweet Cheetos snack and is launching a playful "Eggerator" for the Easter season.
Developed under the Cheetos brand, Cheetos Sweetos snacks swap signature
Cheetos cheese flavour for cinnamon-sugar.
"Whether it's our Cheetos Bag of Bones Halloween-themed
snack or first-of-its-kind Cheetos Mix-Ups product, we're always
looking for ways to add some playful fun to the snack aisle," said Jeff Klein,
vice-president of marketing for Frito-Lay, in a press release.
Beyond the new snacks, the Cheetos brand is putting its playful stamp on Easter egg decorating, the company said. Available in early March on its website,
the brand's new "Eggerator" allows consumers to digitally decorate their
own spring holiday eggs and gives the designs a "cheese twist." Those
who design and submit an egg will be entered into a contest for a chance
to win $10,000.
Sweetos snacks will be available in U.S. retail stores beginning
mid-February for a limited time in seven-ounce bags for a suggested retail
price of US$3.49.
