Coca-Cola Foundation has raised over $1 Billion for charity

Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey announced that since the Coca-Cola Foundation’s inception in 1984, they have given back more than $1 billion to communities worldwide.

Through this giving The Coca-Cola Foundation has reached more than 655 million people around the world, supporting over 2,400 organizations with a focus on protecting the environment, empowering women, education, and enhancing communities.

The Coca-Cola Foundation has given millions of dollars in grants to organizations serving communities from coast-to-coast-to-coast. From helping Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada to expand their Keystone Youth Leadership program to supporting students through 4-H Canada’s First-Generation Scholarship to restoring important freshwater sources like Lake Winnipeg with Ducks Unlimited Canada.

Helen Smith Price, president of The Coca-Cola Foundation, said in a press release that the Foundation’s goal is “to give back at least 1 per cent of our operating income from the prior year. We give back to communities a portion of our earnings every year. The more our business earns, the more we are able to support our communities.”


Price added, “When organizations apply for funding from the Foundation, we ask many different questions as a part of how we assess their potential community impact. Our grantees share projections on the expected results and impact of their work, and they have to provide ongoing reports to track progress.”
