Coca-Cola unveils zero calorie, flavoured sparkling water

Coca-Cola North America is dipping its toes into flavoured and caffeinated sparkling water market in  March 2020.

“There are unmet needs for consumers in the category today, both for those who don’t drink sparkling water regularly today and for those who do,” said Julie Siwemuke, sparkling water director, Coca-Cola North America in a press release. “When shoppers browse the sparkling water aisle, they’re looking for interesting and approachable flavours that offer a refreshing treat. They’re also drawn to fun, colourful brands with personality.”

The company unveiled their line of flavoured fizzy water in early November to meet consumer demands for healthier options to soft drinks. The company’s consumer research informed the process, and was developed within six months of the initial concept. The new line is called, AHA, and is available in eight flavours.

“As the largest and fastest-growing part of the water business, mainstream flavoured sparkling water is a segment we know we must double-down on,” said Celina Li, VP, Water, Coca-Cola North America in a press release. “AHA is our big-bet brand in this big-bet category.”


The flavour pairings are inspired by cocktails, but have zero calories, which could be of interest for those providing pantry services, or looking for a healthy vending option.

  • Strawberry + Cucumber, Citrus + Green Tea
  • Black Cherry + Coffee,
  • Orange + Grapefruit
  • Apple + Ginger
  • Blueberry + Pomegranate
  • Peach + Honey

The calorie-free, sodium-free offerings will hit stores in multi-packs of 12-fl.-oz. cans and in 16-fl.-oz. individual cans.
