Colombia coffee production rises 18% in February
Bogota, Colombia – Colombia produced 1.29 million 60-kg bags of mild washed Arabica coffee in February, an 18 per cent increase compared to the 1.1 million bags produced during the same previous month, according to the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation.
Year-to-date production reached nearly 2.6 million bags, a 15 per cent increase compared to the 2.2 million bags produced between January and February 2016. Similarly, during the last 12 months (March 2016-February 2017), coffee production increased two per cent by reaching a total of 14.6 million 60-kg bags.
So far this crop year, Colombian coffee production has increased nine per cent by reaching more than 6.9 million 60-kg bags.
