Fun Expo will make a bold move as part of a new strategic initiative by moving their fall show into the Spring to co-locate with the Amusement Showcase International (ASI) beginning in 2009. The announcement came Aug. 3, when American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA) president Mike Rudowicz told tradesters attending AAMA’s Distributor Gala about the ASI-Fun Expo co-location in 2009.

Fun Expo is owned by Leisure and Entertainment Trade Shows (LETS), a joint venture formed by AAMA, AMOA and IALEI in 2000 when Fun Expo was purchased from Reed Expositions.

LETS Chairman Harold Skripsky remarked, “The thought of moving Fun Expo to the Spring has been discussed many times over the years with the LETS Board. The beauty of our association partnership has always been to do what is best for the industry first, and then what’s best for Fun Expo. While we have been extremely pleased with our relationship with AMOA and its show, we also look forward to new opportunities and a close working relationship with AAMA and the ASI show in the Spring of 2009.”
In 2008, Fun Expo will be co-located with the AMOA International Expo in Las Vegas from Sept. 10-12. The first co-located Spring ASI-Fun Expo event will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, North Halls, March 12-14, 2009. The AMOA International Expo will remain in the fall of 2009, from Sept. 24-26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
