GMCR to release new machine on heels of fair trade coffee
Nov. 1, 2013, Montreal – After recently committing to only brew and serve fair trade coffee, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) Canada is set to release a new Keurig machine for espresso.
The company plans to introduce a new brewer under a partnership with Italian company Lavazza. In spring 2014, GMCR Canada will launch the new Keurig Rivo, a brewing system that uses the Keurig single-cup technology and serves authentic Italian espressos.
The coffee company has been expanding its beverage diversification in other partnerships with Lipton and Snapple as well as retailers like Costco, Metro and Sobeys to produce in-house K-Cup brands.
In addition, GMCR Canada employed a formal commitment to only brew and serve 100 per cent Fair Trade certified coffee in its 62 Van Houtte Café-bistros across Quebec.
