December 21, 2011, San Deigo, CA – Hot Can Canada is seeking a partner to help launch its self-heating canned beverages in the Canadian vending market.
The Hot Can is designed to offer consumers hot beverages and soups on-the-go. The soup or beverage is housed in the outer chamber of a double-chambered can; the inner chamber houses water and calcium oxide separately. When the consumer presses a button on the bottom of the can, the water mixes with the calcium oxide, starting a chemical reaction that heats the can's contents.
The liquid inside the can reaches temperatures ranging from 145F to 155F (63C to 68C) in less than three minutes.
