Jabil to supply Intel IoT Retail Gateway Reference Design for Intelligent Vending

The innovative
new solutions will provide vending machine manufacturers with shorter
time to market, the company said in a news release.

the latest advances in microcircuits, processors, wireless
communications, data storage and transfer, and human interfaces,” said
Jabil’s Roberto Ferri, vice-president of sales, responsible for global

The Intel Architecture processor-based design, which Jabil
will produce, is a flexible and cost-effective solution that combines
all vending machine functions onto a single platform, the company said. Intelligent
vending equipment manufacturers can purchase an Intel-designed platform
from Jabil or request Jabil to build a customized version of this
platform.

“The Intel IoT Retail Gateway Reference Design for Intelligent Vending
simplifies the design of connected intelligent vending machines,
offering building blocks to enable future-proofed design that also
reduces development time, complexity and the risk associated with
investment,” said Intel’s Jose Avalos, worldwide director of visual retail. “The gateway integrates numerous compute workloads such as
vending machine controller, touch screen, telemetry, digital
advertising, payment and transaction management and provides
simplification of integration with back office applications.”
