Aug. 22, 2014, Quebec City – Jacques Demers, former head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, will be the keynote speaker at the CAMA conference Oct. 2-4 in Quebec City.

Demers, who took the Canadiens to a Stanley Cup victory in 1993, will address the conference on Friday, Oct. 3. His accomplishments as
a high profile NHL head coach and general manager over a 15-year period
became even more extraordinary when it was revealed that he didn't know
how to read or write. In 2005, Jacques Demers published his biography, En toutes lettres, which focused on his long struggle with functional
illiteracy. Since then, he has devoted much of his time to children and
adults’ literacy by getting involved with many charitable organizations
working in this field. Today, Senator Demers represents the
Conservative Party of Canada and the Québec Region of Rigaud in the
Upper House. A compelling and fluently bilingual speaker, Demers will
respond to questions from the audience and sign
autographs.

Partner sponsor Cafection Enterprises, a
manufacturer of ground and whole-bean single-cup coffee brewer
equipment, will host a plant tour of its facility on Thursday, Oct. 2
