Cradlepoint launches one-stop shop cloud service packages for secure IoT networking
Cradlepoint recently announced all-inclusive cloud service packages for its Internet of Things network systems.
Cradlepoint’s Elastic Edge is the second major product announcement from the company under its new NetCloud Solution Packages model, which launched on Jan. 16, the company said in a press release. Cradlepoint designs cloud-delivered 4G LTE network systems that provide a pathway to 5G for branch, mobile and IoT networks. Its systems include software-defined perimeter technology for secure connections between devices and the cloud.
Organizations of all sizes are deploying IoT solutions over cellular 4G LTE networks to enable new business opportunities, streamline operations and reduce costs, the company said in the release. However, it said, studies have identified the need for better IoT security and lower cost.
Elastic Edge aims to meet those needs by providing a blueprint for next-generation IoT networking that includes wireless connectivity, cloud management and integrated software-defined perimeter security, which uses encrypted, perimeter-secured virtual overlays with private IP addressing to isolate and cloak IoT devices from the Internet. This means customers no longer need to trade off security and manageability to get an affordable LTE router solution for IoT, Cradlepoint said.
The company also launched NetCloud Solution Packages for its new COR IBR200 LTE router that extends the benefits of Elastic Edge to cost-sensitive use cases such as kiosks, vending machines, ATMs, digital signage and remote sensors. The new cloud service solution packages simplify the way customers buy, deploy, manage and evolve their Cradlepoint IoT networks.
Packages are available in one-, three- or five-year terms, and combine NetCloud service capabilities with lifetime-warranted IBR200 series hardware and 24/7 support.
In addition, the IBR200 router is equipped with a medium-speed 4G LTE modem that allows customers to take advantage of low-cost IoT/M2M data plans offered by major cellular providers.
