June 23, 2009 – AMI Entertainment Network is proud to announce the release of the spring software update for its signature Megatouch products. This software release includes a host of new features for both operators and players including simplified network configuration, a new installation option, two exciting new games, and plenty of updated content for classic Megatouch titles.

Megatouch has simplified the location connection process for all connected Ion machines with its new Connection Wizard. This utility makes it a carefree process for operators to connect their machines and take advantage of the exclusive benefits of MegaNet. The Connection Wizard walks operators through the connection process step by step, whether a machine connects through wired broadband, dial-up or wireless.

Another innovative feature on this software release is MegaNet Core, a FREE service that allows any broadband-connected Megatouch Ion access to exclusive games, automatic updates, credit card functionality, and potential advertising revenue. MegaNet Core features simple setup and NO monthly fees.

“All of the features in this software release were designed to make life easier for operators,” said Brennan McTernan, AMI Entertainment’s Vice President of Software.  “We simplified the process for operators to maximize the earning potential of their Megatouch machines.”
Other Spring software features include new installation options, local machine registration, the ability to create operator cards which allow access to operator setup without opening the machine, and the Megatouch Player Vault – a credit card feature that allows players to store unused game credits for later use on the same Megatouch.

Two new games developed for the release continue the Megatouch tradition of creating engaging content that draws new players while also satisfying longtime fans. Photo Hunt Widescreen Edition is a more modern version of the number one touchscreen game of all time. Larger photos complement the sleek, updated background while the classic gameplay remains intact. Photo Hunt Widescreen Edition is available exclusively on Rx and Aurora Widescreen systems.

Also, Megatouch brings one of China's most popular card games, Dou Di Zhu, stateside with Fight the Landlord. Players compete by discarding singles, pairs, and trios of cards, attempting to be the first to discard all 17 cards in their possession. Easy to learn but hard to master, this enormously popular card game is ready for a whole new audience.

In addition, refreshed trivia and photos on 10 classic Megatouch games, from Trivia Whiz to Photo Pop, highlight this release.

“We strive for diversity in our game portfolio and Fight the Landlord, a card game phenomenon in China, is the latest example,” said AJ Russo, AMI Entertainment’s Creative Director. “This unique game, along with Photo Hunt Widescreen, draws players in and gives them a reason to keep playing, which in turn creates more coin-drop for operators.”
