NAMA renegotiates hotel rates to make
expo more affordable

Attendees at NAMA National Expo in September in Chicago will enjoy savings on their hotel rooms thanks to price cuts negotiated by the association.

July 10, 2009 – Attendees at The National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) National Expo in September in Chicago will enjoy savings on their hotel rooms thanks to price cuts negotiated by the association, LyNae Schleyer CMP, NAMA Senior Director of Education and Trade Shows has announced.

“We know that in today’s economy watching every single penny is more important than ever, which is why we worked so hard to renegotiate these hotel rates.  Housing is a major expense for attendees, and we hope that with these newly reduced rates it will be possible for everyone to attend this important industry event,” said Schleyer.

The National Expo will be held Sept. 23-25 at Navy Pier in Chicago, IL.  It’s the leading vending industry event, emphasizing the most up-to-date beverages, machines, technology, food, coffee, and as well as offering powerful information-packed education sessions.

NAMA offers a strong lineup of quality hotels representing all major brands.  Rates start as low as $139 per night and have been reduced by as much as $50 per night.  All NAMA hotels are within a mile and a half of Navy Pier (shuttle bus service will be available to Navy Pier each day of the show) and are located in the heart of Chicago, surrounded by many great restaurants and fabulous shopping on Chicago’s famed “Mag Mile.”

These rates are only available if you book through Ambassadors, the official NAMA EXPO housing company.  When you book rooms through Ambassadors, your credit card is not charged immediately upon booking; it is charged for one night’s deposit of room and tax when the reservation is turned over to the hotel – which does not occur until several weeks before the show.  Only the deposit is charged – you are never charged for the entire stay up front.

Please be wary of other housing companies – most of the time they charge your credit card immediately for the deposit, and they charge your card for the total room and tax charges before you ever check into the hotel.  Also – in many cases all amounts you pay up front are non-refundable.

To book your room, visit or phone 866-889-9635 (U.S.) or 404-584-7458 (international).

Schleyer further states, “NAMA recognizes how important it is for everyone in the industry to attend this Expo.  We all need to keep current on what’s new.  NAMA is sensitive to ever-shrinking budgets, and continues to work hard on behalf of its members to make the Expo affordable.”

NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies.  The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
