Nestlé launches beet-sweetened snack bar

Nestlē UK launched a new and distinctive snack bar in the UK this month, containing a range of fruit and vegetables, sweetened with beets.

The new YES! bars promises to deliver a tasty snack by focusing on diverse ingredients that are not ordinarily found in any ordinary fruit or nut bar. Combinations of ingredients in a range of bars with flavours as diverse as apple & beetroot; lemon, quinoa & chilli and coffee, cherry & dark chocolate.

Each YES! nut bar is a source of protein and contains 5g of sugar while the fruit and vegetable bars have no added sugar and contribute one of your five servings of fruit a day.

Four of the bars are high in fibre with the lemon, quinoa and chilli bar being a source of fibre. The full range is also gluten free and suitable for vegetarians while both fruit and vegetable bars are also suitable for vegans.


The coffee, cherry & dark chocolate bars and the sea salt, dark chocolate & almond bars contain 189 calories per bar, while the cranberry and dark chocolate bar contains 183 calories. The fruit and vegetable bars have 118 (Lemon, Quinoa & Chilli) and 123 (Beetroot & Apple) calories. The range contains no artificial sweeteners, flavours, colours or preservatives.

The five YES! bars feature five ingredient combos:

  • Sumptuous Cranberry & Dark Choc
  • Delightful Coffee, Dark Choc & Cherry

The bars have been designed by a dedicated in-house team of experts who balanced taste and nutrition. These bars are currently available only in the UK and Ireland, however, no date is yet set for its release in Canada.
