Danone announced that it plans to increased plant-based products and popular dairy categories to gain traction with younger consumers in the next few years.

Danone’s recent investment seminar discussed how the company will boost its growth objectives. Based on recent studies on current trends towards plant-based foods, the French multi-national corporation pledged to triple its worldwide plant-based sales from US$1.9 billion to roughly $5.7 billion by 2025.

The company plans to accelerate its core plant-based beverages and yogurt categories, and gain further opportunities for plant-based commercial growth. Danone Chairman and CEO, Emmanuel Faber, feels that the market promises great opportunities for today’s youth, who are increasingly more plant-based in their food choices. In another five years, the market should provide more plant based options for a growing generation of consumers who are interested in the health-halo that many vegan or plant-based options provide.
