Winners of Retail Council's Grand Prix snacks and beverage awards
This year's 25th Anniversary Canadian Grand Prix Awards Gala awarded shelf-stable snacks and beverages which featured an exotic twist; more snacks were grain free or organic that previous years’ winners.
Retail Council of Canada's Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards is a rigorous, annual competition of the best new grocery products. The following beverages and shelf-stable desserts and snacks that won the Grand Prix Awards in Canada:
For beverages, Twinnings’ Exotic Mango and Ginger Green Tea and Sensations by Compliments Cold Brew Coffee won.
The following shelf stable desserts were awarded the Grand Prix: Lamontagne Collection of chocolates, and Nutbrown Grain Free Granola. The winners in the sweet snacks division were Prana for their Chocolate Bark and for savoury snacks, the winner was Metro Brands’ Irresistibles Old-Fashioned Potato Chips.
"This year's 25th Anniversary awards showcase the best of the best new grocery products from across Canada. It is exciting that outstanding products are being introduced by established manufacturers, new suppliers, as well as smaller boutique and family-owned retailers," said Diane J. Brisebois, President and CEO of Retail Council of Canada, in a press release.
Chef and chief jury chair Marcus Von Albrecht oversaw the judging panel. From 119 finalists who scored at least 70% on the rigorous product evaluation measure.
