CAMA connection: Summer 2019
2019 is the year of change
I have had the pleasure of serving on CAMA’s board of directors for eleven years, and once again, I am astonished at all the changes within our industry over this time. Over these past eleven years, I have had the pleasure of working with CAMA’s directors of the board, who have ensured we have evolved as an association.
The board members are the team that monitors the industry changes and ensures our membership is informed with the latest trends and technologies, all the while looking to bring value to your membership with CAMA. Looking back at this past year alone, your board has been instrumental in continuing to develop the Smart Pick program, launching a partnership with Global Payments for preferred transaction rates for merchant processing, providing advertising opportunities on the CAMA website, and seeing that even the smallest of our operators can easily implement a Health and Safety Policy through our Small Business Advisory Service.
We are continuing to look for ways to bring value to our membership and I am excited to see more of these value-added benefits launch as we move into the second half of 2019 and beyond. Having a membership that is engaged and participates in our events throughout the year will ensure we all prosper and continue to learn from each other.
I certainly hope to see many of you at the upcoming CAMA Tradeshow this coming September, where the show returns to Montreal. This year’s tradeshow will be held September 20 to 21 at the Hôtel Bonaventure. Your board of directors is working on a show that the ones from years past, will have tremendous educational sessions for our ever-changing industry.
Over those two days, you will also have a chance to meet with many industry experts and suppliers to discuss how you can continue to grow your business, ensure the products and technologies you are offering your clients are exactly what they need for years to come.
In addition, if you’re looking for a little fun, you can join us Friday, September 13th in Halifax for the CAMA Eastern Regional Golf Tournament. I do not know all that the next 10 years will bring, but I can assure you that change is inevitable and we must prepare and adapt or risk being left behind.
