The deadline for registration for the National Automatic Merchandising Association’s (NAMA) Supervisor Development Program has been extended to March 31.
The deadline for registration for the National Automatic Merchandising Association’s (NAMA) Supervisor Development Program has been extended to March 31, allowing people additional time to sign up, said Senior Director, Education & Trade Shows LyNae Schleyer, NCE CMP.
“Training programs like this one are critical in tough economic times because they show you how you can do things better, which ultimately turns into a healthier bottom line,” said Schleyer. “Many companies are experiencing restructuring and downsizing which impacts employees since they need to learn new skill sets. This program can introduce new competencies and take the training out of the hands of the busy managers they report to,” she added.
The Supervisor Development Program will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort, Wednesday, April 15 through noon Friday, April 17, allowing time for attendees to visit the trade show floor as well. Topics covered by the program include Decision Making, Time Management, Communication, Personal Selling Skills, Leadership, Working with Customers, and Problem Solving.

Not only have we been able to keep the price at the 2007 rate to make the program as affordable as possible, we are offering a discount to businesses wanting to send more than one employee,” said Schleyer.
Sponsored by PepsiCo Foodservice, the three-day program for newly appointed and experienced supervisors and managers coincides with NAMA’s Spring Expo in Las Vegas. “It’s an excellent way for leaders to acquire the skills they need to help their companies thrive during the current economic situation,” said Schleyer.
Participants will pay $1,250 for their first attendee and $950 – a savings of $300—for their second. The fee includes sessions led by industry leaders, several meals and breaks, learning materials and a graduation certificate. Participants who are NAMA members will also receive a complementary pass to the Spring Expo. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses; hotel accommodations are available from $59 per night.

NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
