June 3, 2015, Dublin, Ireland – Operators can justify the
cost of office coffee service by playing up its health benefits, says a new industry
report.

Convincing employers that office coffee service can increase
productivity and morale and thereby justify the cost associated with office
coffee service remains a key to the industry's future success, says a new
report by Research and Markets entitled “Office Coffee Service in the U.S.:
Market Trends and Opportunities, 2nd Edition.”

Two ways to justify the cost of office coffee service
enhancing office coffee service's health halo to associate it with employer
wellness program trends and demonstrating to employers that keeping employees
on site saves them money, the report says.

Many employees view coffee as a productivity tool and view
high-quality office coffee as an important perk, but employers still pick up
less than half of their workplace ground/whole bean and pod/single-cup coffee
costs.

The wild card concerns the degree to which single cups’
higher costs may dampen employers’ decision to cover them. So far, they are
more likely to cover those costs for higher-income employees, the report indicates.
Single cups also need to navigate increasing concerns about plastic waste,
opening the door for alternative packaging and bean-to-cup office coffee
brewers.

The research firm cites Packaged Facts’ forecast of 4.5 per
cent growth of the office coffee market in both 2015 and 2016.
