Jan. 5, 2015, Los Angeles – An automated retailing system
for self-service purchases of high-end electronics debuted this week at the
Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The EndCap Automated Retailing System, developed by AVT, a
manufacturer of automated retailing systems and smart technology vending machines,
features an innovative design that allows for self-service purchases of
valuable retail products such as tablets, video games and other electronics
that are typically kept behind locked glass panels.

The system allows consumers to explore product features via
a smart-panel touchscreen and purchase products without employee assistance.

The unit is being marketed to tablet and other high-end
electronic device manufacturers as the ideal retailing solution for chain and
big-box stores such as Walmart, Target and BestBuy.

“These systems feature the best in automated retailing
technology, and have such an innovative and appealing design that they attract
many more customers than having a product sit idly behind a locked
cabinet," said Shannon Illingworth, founder and chairman of AVT, in a news
release. “We have not only solved the problems with theft and eliminated the
burden of having an employee on standby to assist customers with merchandise,
but we have also created an intriguing, entertaining and informative display
centre that generates interest and stimulates sales. It's a win for
everyone.”

The system features the company's newly granted Multimedia
Patent for Vending Systems, which allows users to view product information and
select merchandise via an interactive touchscreen. The new patent also covers
the delivering of customized advertising messages through the touchscreen,
based upon the customer's item selections.
