Smucker dropping price of packaged coffee

Orrville, Ohio – J. M. Smucker Company is dropping the price of its packaged coffee products by an average of six per cent, the company announced in a press release yesterday. The list price drop will mostly affect its Folgers and Dunkin’ Donuts brand names.

Steve Oakland, vice chair and president of U.S. Food and Beverage, said in the release the price decrease is a reflection of lower green coffee costs in the past several quarters.

“This list price decrease provides an opportunity for consumers to benefit from lower pricing on an everyday basis,” Oakland said.

The price drop will not include the company’s K-Cup pods.
