Nut-butter energy bars target athletes and adventurers
The Clif Nut Butter Filled Energy Bar is now available in Canada in four flavours: chocolate hazelnut butter, chocolate peanut butter, coconut almond butter and peanut butter.
Made for athletes and adventurers, the bar combines the fat from nut butters and carbohydrates from multiple sources, said Clif Bar & Company, manufacturer of the bars, in a press release.
Each recipe contains non-GMO ingredients and does not contain partially hydrogenated oils, high-fructose corn syrup or artificial flavours, the company said. The bars contain a plant-based protein combination of nut butters, brown rice and pea.
The company is launching Clif Nut Butter Filled Energy Bar in Canada with several strategic partnerships throughout the year. These include an elevated Clif experience at the World Ski & Snowboard Festival in Whistler, B.C., with a Clif-inspired coffee shop pop-up that will pair the bars with Mount Currie Coffee, and a partnership with Trans Canada Trail – the non-profit leading the efforts to connect The Great Trail by 2017. For the latter, bars will be sampled along high-trafficked portions of the trail in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta during summer and fall.
All four flavours are available at select and major retailers across Canada and will retail for $1.99 per bar or $6.99 per box (MSRP) at major retailers such as Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart Canada, Sobeys, Provigo and Jean Coutu.
