Toronto City Council voted yesterday to ban the sale and provision of bottled water in city facilities and ensure access to public tap water in all city facilities. Toronto is now the largest
municipality in the world to ban bottled water.
"Toronto's decision to ban the bottle and turn on the tap sends a clear
message that bottled water's 15 minutes are up, the marketing scam is out of
the closet, and it's time to go back to the tap," says Joe Cressy, Campaigns
Coordinator for the Polaris Institute.
