UPDATE: Convenience markets considered “essential service”
By CANADIAN VENDING
The Office of the Ontario Premier issued an updated list of companies considered essential services. Micro-markets, convenience services are among those considered essential.
The communiqué lists “businesses engaged in the retail and wholesale sale of food, and household consumer products necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation and essential operations of residences and businesses, including grocery stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, markets and other similar retailers,” an essential service and may choose to remain open.
This message from the Premier’s office comes after his announcement on March 22, stating mandatory closure of non-essential industries, and stated a more comprehensive list of essential services today.
