July 22, 2008, Chicago – Producers from The History Channel’s popular show “Modern Marvels” have confirmed that an episode on vending will air July 24 at 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, 8 p.m. Central and 11 pm Mountain Time, National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) President and CEO Richard M. Geerdes, NCE, announced today.

In discussing the upcoming broadcast Geerdes said, “Our members consistently tell us that one of the most important issues we need to work on is changing our industry’s image, and this program does just that.  The producers tell us that the show is all about the unique technologies and devices that have been developed to accept coins and will help change the way people think about vending.”

According to the producers, the vending segment is the longest in the program and covers the history of vending, the size of the vending industry, a tour of Crane Merchandising Systems and an interview with Rich Geerdes. The segment also includes a look at new technology and explains how it works.
